A smile can hide a thousand thoughts

But sometimes a thousand words cannot bring about a smile.

A smile can hide a broken heart with broken unfound pieces.

A smile can ease another soul but give no comfort in return.

Smiling faces all around

No one stops to see the cracks abound.

So many heavy—but essential—conversations with various friends over the past few weeks.

So many broken hearts for so many different reasons.

On this Valentine’s Day I send my heart out to all those hearts who are missing pieces.
