It’s great to have choices in life. What’s even better is enjoying whatever choice you make, even if you change your mind. Doing what makes you happy, even in the smallest daily aspects of life.
For example, dressing up makes me immensely happy. However, washing my makeup off, slipping into comfy clothing, and jumping into bed makes me equally content. This is the joy of being 44! I can love the way I look all dressed up and with full makeup, and love myself while lounging around the house because I know who I am. I know ME.
Neither version of me is ‘putting on a mask’. They are both equally, powerfully, unapologetically, lovely me.
It’s been a long road. A bumpy—often down right treacherous—road. I can’t say I don’t have days where I don’t want to get out from under the covers, or cover my body in oversized clothing and forcefully face the day.
Life is not all roses, but there are flowers in bloom all around if we are willing to see the good and the beauty in the midst of a field full of weeds and thorns.
There is nothing wrong with saying “I love me”. There is nothing wrong with believing in your inner beauty, as well as your outer appearance. You can love them both. Both are gifts from God (or whomever you are spiritually connected to).
Co-exist with yourself. Love who you are today and who you are becoming. It all starts and it all ends with love. Let it guide your decisions, your connections with others, and let it light any path you may take.
